You have a 2 out of 26 chance of getting it right each time, so it doesn't take that long to do.Īnother thing that's sort of a pain in the butt is that in Mac OS 7 or above, all the player and object icons get messed up periodically, and you need to refresh the screen by switching to Finder, making sure you have an open window over the game in the background, and then switching back to the game. It's a little inconvenient to play the game without the code wheel, but you can just keep on entering and exiting the Citadel until you choose the correct letter by chance. ![]() And you never, ever want to leave your party while they're in the elevator shaft. The game can do funny things to your party if you leave them while they're still in there. It's important to save backups of your game every time you exit the Citadel. There is a map book in the game, but I never really figured out how to use it. Having some sheets of graph paper to map with is almost essential when playing this game. You need to stretch your mind to figure out what's going on, solve the puzzles, and even to recognize the puzzles when you find them. Great atmosphere, great sense of mystery.
